Transnational DQS certification holding confirmed compliance of the quality management system of Kalinin NPP with the international standards

The quality management system of the Kalinin NPP meets the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2015. This conclusion was provided by an expert of one of the most authoritative and large international organizations for audit and certification: The transnational holding DQS Holding GmbH. The audit took place at KNPP from November 21 to November 27, 2020.

Compliance assessment was carried out in all areas of the enterprise's activities related to the production and supply of electricity. The non-technical side of the audit included areas such as Human Resources and Communications Management. The assessment included the analysis of the KNPP quality system documents and interviews with the personnel.

While performing the audit, DQS expert Irina Suvorova identified 19 strengths in the field of quality management. Among them are: Flexibility and adaptability of the organization's management system to changing conditions, application of the principle of process approach to work performance and process risk management, assessment of customer satisfaction of stakeholders regarding forecasting and selling electricity on the wholesale market. The active leadership position of the director of KNPP in matters of quality as well as continuous monitoring of critical risks were also noted.

According to the auditor's conclusion, the audit showed no discrepancies. “Kalinin NPP has implemented and maintains a quality management system in accordance with international standards,” I. Suvorova said. The expert recommended to issue a corresponding certificate to the nuclear power plant, which would confirm the high quality mark of the management system at both the state and international levels. After certification, Kalinin NPP (a branch of Rosenergoatom JSC) will be included in the customer database of DQS along with Bosch, Toyota, Samsung, Transneft, RusHydro, Gazprom and other well-known brands.
