11th October 2020 2:26 a.m. Ostrovets, Belarus – Unit No. 1 at the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, equipped with the VVER-1200 reactor has been brought to minimum control power (MCP). Minimum control power level is reached when neutron flux is recorded in a reactor working at a level sufficient to sustain a fission chain reaction.

Isotope JSC, official distributor of isotope products manufactured by ROSATOM’s enterprises, successfully delivered lutetium-177 produced according to EU GMP standards to Nuclear Medicine Department of Policlinico of Bari (Apulia, Italy) for quality evaluation. The activity was implemented within the scope of the Healthcare Memorandum of Understanding signed between Apulia Region and ROSATOM in November 2019.

22 September, 2020 – On September 22, Arktika, the lead universal nuclear-powered icebreaker, departed from the completion embankment of the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg towards the Murmansk sea port. The passage is planned to take about two weeks. During this time, the nuclear icebreaker will be tested in ice conditions.

Installation of a circular pipeline for primary cooling water has been started in the turbine building of Kurskaya NPP-2. The pipeline will enable water circulation between the turbine condenser and the cooling tower used for cooling exhaust steam in the turbine.
