The Kolskaya NPP: power unit ?2 plugged in

Th power unit ?2 of the Kolskaya NPP was restarted after scheduled preventive overhaul on October 7 at 16:03. As of October 8, 2015, there are all four power units in work, the capacity of the plant is 1043 MW, according to the dispatch schedule.

The radiation situation in the area of the Kolskaya nuclear power plant and in a 30-km monitoring zone does not differ from the natural background. The level of background radiation in the area of the Kolskaya nuclear power plant is in the range of 0.07 - 0.10 mSv / h (microsieverts per hour).

The Kolskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in 200 km to the South from Murmansk on the shore of the Lake Imandra. It develops about 60% of the electric power in Murmansk region. There are 4 power units in operation with VVER reactors of 440 MW capacity each. The Kolskaya nuclear power plant is the supplier of the electric power for Murmansk region and Karelia.
