On April 15, 2011 participants of the first city children’s applied arts contest “Donskiye Lazoriki” organized by Rostov nuclear power plant and Volgodonsk Education Department were honored in the Information Centre of Rostov NPP.

Pupils of 16 general education institutions of Volgodonsk had taken part in the contest - over 70 talented children aged 7 - 17.

The applied arts contest had been held in three age groups and the following categories: needlework, modelling and artistic work.

The schoolchildren’s works had been estimated by a competent jury from among school and Children’s Art Centre teachers, as well as Rostov NPP employees.

Among those who took part in the awarding ceremony there was Head of the nuclear power plant personnel management service Alexander Bushnev. He noted: “Every such work is preceded by colossal work of the children, their teachers and parents. And Rostov NPP is always ready to support creative projects, especially those in which children are involved”.

All the participants and winners of the contest “Donskiye Lazoriki” were awarded diplomas and presented commemorative gifts from the Public Information Centre of Rostov NPP. A special prize from the nuclear power plant was awarded to Alina Kolesnikova for her floral composition made of plastic bottles and disposable tableware.

The teachers of the contest participants were not left without attention either, they were distinguished with letters of gratitude from Volgodonsk Education Department and presented commemorative gifts from the nuclear power plant.
