Leningrad NPP: "stars" of extreme water sports starred in video on background of nuclear power plant

The Gulf of Finland near the Leningrad nuclear power plant has been selected as a background for wakeboarding video recordings, this kind of extreme water sport is a combination of water skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing.

Sophisticated wakeboarding figures, which combine elements of slalom waterskiing, tumbling and jumping on the background of the Leningrad NPP and the Leningrad NPP-2 were [performed by 11-times wakeboarding champion of Russia, bronze medalist of the World Championship Nikita Martianov.

The shooting took place on one of the most beautiful beaches of the Baltic coast in Sosnovy Bor, which is considered the "pearl" of the Gulf of Finland. Magnificent visual picture - white sand dunes, slender pines and gently sloping beach without a single stone, exactly this landscape is necessary for such extreme water sports - was a distinct addition to a view of the horizon spread out on the nuclear power plant. This one of the favorite places of citizens and sail surfers and kites with colored domes soar in the air.

To capture the essential elements, athletes have brought special equipment for wakeboarding, which was set directly on the bay. "We had so much fun. The place is very beautiful. These surveys is a test version of what we plan to do in spring next year - says Nikita Martianov. - While it is still a secret, I can only say that we will shoot at the Leningrad NPP-2, project is very interesting and it has never been done before. Today's shooting in the Gulf and the construction site of the Leningrad NPP-2 have shown us how to work out our ideas further".

Help in organizing video shooting was provided by the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom", Information Department of the Leningrad NPP and Sosnovy Bor Club of active water sports ЗWind Hunters StationИ.
