Experts from the Leningrad NPP team entered final of the All-Russian championship of the "Rosatom" "What? Where? When?"

The team of the Leningrad NPP reached the final of the All-Russian Synchronous championship game "What? Where? When?" among the teams of the nuclear industry, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the nuclear industry. Intellectuals of the LNPP successfully played at the regional stage of the championship, becoming the second team of nuclear enterprises of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region.

Last weekend, the stages of regional phases "West" and "East" All-Russian championship on game "What? Where? When?" passed on-line using the intercom at the same time on the grounds of Information Centres of the nuclear industry. The intellectual competition was attended by 79 teams from 19 cities in the presence of the State Corporation (West Zone - 64 teams; East - 15 teams), which is about 500 experts.

St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region was represented by eight teams. Atomgrad Sosnovy Bor was represented in the championship by two teams of the Leningrad nuclear power plant and the two teams NITI named after Alexandrov.

Experts competed beyond the rules of the sport game "What? Where? When?": teams are all voiced questions at the same time, given minutes to discuss answers which shall be in writing. The winner is determined by the sum of correct answers. Team captain of "Rosatom" intellectuals Constantin Ruder leaded regional stage in area "West", in the eastern zone questions were asked by a member of the intellectual club, the team captain Elena Potanina.

During two rounds of the game 30 questions in total were asked, some of them were directly related to nuclear themes. The LNPP team went to the finals of the Championship with a score of 19 points, losing only one point to the Petersburg stage winner - SPbANP team. The best result of "the West" revealed to team of the Kursk NPP (Kurchatov), 24 questions on the "East" were correctly answered by a team of Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Kombinat" "Elektrokhimpribor" EKhP-2 З(Lesnoy city ) - 21 correct answer. In total 38 teams reached the final.

The final round of the Championship in the on-line will be held on the grounds of Information Centres of the nuclear industry on October 24.

The Leningrad nuclear power plant is the JSC "Rosenergoatom Concern" branch. The station is located in the city Sosnovy Bor in 80 km to the west of St. Petersburg on the bank of the Finland Gulf. The Leningrad NPP is the country's first station with RBMK-1000 reactors (uranium - graphite nuclear reactors of channel type on thermal neutrons). 4 power units with electric capacity of 1000 MWt each operate at the nuclear power plant.
