Russian NPPs increased power generation by 1.35% in 10 months of 2022

Russian nuclear power plants (affiliates of Rosenergoatom, the Electric Power Division of the State Corporation Rosatom) increased power generation by 1.35% over the ten months of 2022 in comparison with the same period in 2021.

Generation from January to October amounted to more than 183.6 billion kilowatt-hours, or 102.4% of the balance target of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. Therefore, over 4.3 billion kWh have beengenerated since the beginning of the year in excess of the FAS balance target (as of November 1, 2022).

The work of all Russian NPPs for ten months of this year made it possible to prevent emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere in the amount of more than 92 million tons of CO2 equivalent. The generation in October amounted to more than 19.3 billion kilowatt-hours of power (as of November 1, 2022).

The share of power generation by nuclear power plants in Russia is about 20%.
