Rostekhnadzor completed the additional service life readiness check of the power unit No 3 of Balakovo NPP
On 12 October, Balakovo NPP successfully completed the check of the power unit No 3 readiness for further operation after its design life. The Commission of the Volga Interregional Territorial Administration of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service has confirmed that the Nuclear Plant has taken measures to extend the Plant’s service life (PLE).

Leningrad NPP-2: key documents confirming the completion of power unit No 1 construction and its readiness for commissioning has been signed
On 15 October, 2018, Sergey Perevoshchikov, the Head of the North-European Interregional Territorial Administration for Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision of Rostekhnadzor, presented the Plant Manager of Leningrad NPP Vladimir Pereguda the Statement of Conformity (SOC) of the constructed power unit No 1 with the VVER-1200 reactor of Leningrad NPP-2 (No 5 of Leningrad NPP) with the technical requirements and design documentation.

The provision of safety and production standards at Kalinin NPP is at the high level and corresponds to Russian and world’s standards. This is an appraisal given by the experts of British and Russian insurance pools during the international Insurance Inspection (III) that was held at Kalinin NPP from 9 to 11 October. This is the second inspection of this sort for Kalinin NPP power units.

Leningrad NPP-2: the inspection proved the readiness of the innovative power unit No 1 with VVER-1200 reactor for the commissioning
At the innovative power unit No 1 with VVER-1200 reactor unit of Leningrad NPP the inspection – one of the most important stages before its commissioning – was completed. The inspection proved that after the 15-day complex trial of the power unit at 100% capacity in August, 2018 the main and auxiliary equipment is functioning and can be operated safely and reliably.
