The Balakovo NPP is an acknowledged leader of the Russian nuclear industry. It was awarded the title of Russia’s Best NPP several times (according to operating results of 1995, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2005-2009, 2011-2014, and 2015).

The Balakovo NPP became the winner of the 14th International Contest for the European Quality Gold Medal.

High Achievements of the Balakovo NPP in operational safety are marked with a victory in the Concern's contest for the Best NPP in Safety Culture according to the results of 2016. The Balakovo NPP became the contest winner for the seventh time. Most (7 out of 8) of the reliability and safety indicators of the Balakovo NPP according to the WANO guidelines are rated higher than worldwide average for NPPs with similar power units.

The Balakovo NPP was named as Leader of Environmental Protection Activity in Russia according to the results of the 12th nation-wide contest held in 2016 under the auspices of the Russian Federation Government and the Federation Council. The power plant won this contest for the ninth time.

The plant employs over 100 persons holding a prestigious title of the Engineer of Russia.

Due to the application of RPS tools in 2016, the Balakovo NPP cut the repair time of the power units No. 3 and No. 4 by 25.6 days in total, thus ensuring additional power output of more than 450 mln kWh, which is equal to 474 mln rubles in money terms. At the same time, all operations were fully in line with quality and safety related requirements.
