Rosenergoatom acquired the StoreData data center

Atomdata-Center, an integrator of the infrastructure of commercial data processing centers (DPC) and a subsidiary of Rosenergoatom JSC (part of the Electric Power Division of ROSATOM) and the Scientific Innovation Center have acquired a controlling stake in the Moscow DPC StoreData.

StoreData data center has been on the market since 2010 and has a highly reliable infrastructure certified according to the PCI DSS standard. StoreData is rated-3 of the international TIA-942 standard and has a predicted availability ratio of at least 99.98%. The current capacity is 160 racks.

The deal to acquire the StoreData data center was carried out as part of the implementation of the Program for the development of a geo-distributed and disaster-proof data center network of ROSATOM. In 2019, Rosatom has already put into commercial operation the Kalininsky data center in Udomlya, the Tver region (near the Kalinin NPP) with a capacity of 48 MW, which is one of the largest data centers in Russia and Europe, in 2020 the construction of the Innopolis data center with a total capacity of 16 MW was launched, which may become the largest in the Volga Federal District, and in March 2021, the Xelent data center in St. Petersburg was acquired with a current connection capacity of 10 MW and the potential for expansion to 14 MW.

The capacities and infrastructure of StoreData will be used to implement the format of a compact specialized data center, providing the most customized services for the user.

Sergei Nemchenkov, general director of Atomdata-Center, said: “Moscow is a key market for the implementation of our strategy for the development of data centers. The purchase of the StoreData data center is the first step towards providing data center services in Moscow, but in the next five years we plan to build several more data centers in the capital with a total capacity of up to 75 MW."

According to Anton Platonov, general director of the Scientific Innovation Center, cooperation with Rosatom will help attract funding and implement all the ideas of the StoreData team regarding the development of a network of small premium data centers in Russia.
