In the first half of the year Kola NPP generated almost by 633 million kWh more than for the same period of 2016

Following the results of the first half of 2017 Kola NPP generated 5364.3 million kWh of electric energy; that is by 632.8 kWh more than for the same period of the previous year.

In June 2017 the generation was 649.9 million kWh; that is by 58.7 million kWh more than in June 2016.

At the present time the NPP’s power units No 3 and 4 are the operating (as of 3 July). Power unit No 1 is at scheduled preventive repair, power unit No 2 is in stand-by. NPP load is 800 MW.

In total, since its commissioning Kola NPP has generated more than 404.5 billion kWh of electric energy.

Radiation situation in the location area of Kola NPP and in 15-kilometer control area doesn’t differ from the natural background. The level of radiation background in the location area of Kola NPP is within 0.06-0.10 mSv/h (microsivert per hour).

The Kolsk NPP is an affiliate of Rosenergoatom Concern JSC and is based 200 km to the south from the city of Murmansk, at the Imandra lakeside. The plant produces around 60% of the Murmansk Region electric power. It has 4 operational power blocks with VVER-type reactors, each of them having capacity of 440 megawatt. The Kolsk NPP supplies electric power to the Murmansk Region and Karelia.
