Rosenergoatom Concern and its subsidiaries are awarded by V.I. Vernandskiy Fund for significant contribution into environmental protection
Rosenergoatom Concern and its subsidiaries – Rostov, Novovoronezh, Kalinin, and Balakovo nuclear power plants – have received the winner cup and special diploma “For initiative and significant contribution into environment protection” for an active participation in All-Russian ecological clean-up “Zelyonaya Vesna” (“Green Spring”).
V.I. Vernandskiy Non-governmental ecology fund holds this ecological clean-up in 2017 – announced the year of ecology in the Russian Federation.
The purpose of Zelyonaya Vesna 2017 campaign taken place from 22 April to 22 May in 80 Russian regions is to attract public’s attention to the environmental issues, preserve biological diversity and improve country’s environmental safety.
The event also had creative contests: the logo contest and the video plot contest devoted to Zelyonaya Vesna. More than 2.5 people took part in this project.
The results of All-Russian ecological clean-up and the awarding ceremony of the most active participants were on 5 June, 2017, in the Russian Federation President Administration in Moscow.
In the course of ceremonial event with the participation of the leading politicians and public persons the nuclear power industry employees’ contribution into environmental protection and nature preservation was also noted. Interestingly, during this campaign, more than 20 organizations of Rosatom Corporation took place in it.
Following the results of the campaign the most active participants, as well as the logo and video plot contests winners were awarded by the organizers with honorary prizes. Thus, for instance, competent judges awarded the Ecological energy logo designed by the employee of Novovoronezh NPP Pavel Dubrovin.
It is to be noted that the environment protection and rational use of natural resources are important tasks for Rosenergoatom Concern and its subsidiaries – nuclear power plants. Indeed, in 2016 NPPs’ amount of costs for environment protection was 3,447 million rubles. These investments allow to preserve ecological condition on the territory of regions of NPPs location areas at the proper level.
