From 21 till October 25 mission of the Moscow center technical support of the operators World association of of nuclear stations (VAO nuclear power plants) worked at the Kolskaya nuclear power plant .

The radiation protection and safety became a subject of the mission. Representatives of the VAO Moscow center took part in its work George Raspopin and Vadim Glazunov, and also heads of the nuclear power plant radiation safety department of Ukraine and Russia: Oleg Salagayev (the Rovno nuclear power plant) and Alexander Mamatov (the New Voronezh nuclear power plant).

Experts visited a board of radiation control, the room of the Complex of conversion of liquid radioactive waste and the workshops placed in a zone of controlled access. The assessment of the actions performed by operating units of the nuclear power plant in the sphere of control of radiation protection and safety was executed.

"At the entity there is a continuous improvement of procedures of radiation protection and control, – the head of department of radiation safety of the Kolskaya nuclear power plant Pavel Nikishayev noted. – Communication with experts during missions of technical support allows to look at carried-out work from the party and to carry out adjustment taking into account the best domestic and foreign the practician. Application received during mission of technical support of recommendations positively influences general level of safety of nuclear station".

By results of the mission the experts will deliver the report in which the professional conclusion about activities of the Kolskaya nuclear power plant in the sphere of radiation protection and safety will be stated.

Missions of technical support of VAO nuclear power plant take place at nuclear stations of the Russian Federation annually. Traditionally they will be seen off by experts of the Moscow center of the World association. The purpose of such missions is assistance to platforms in those questions, which decision is problematic for the entities.
