The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant: the power unit No. 3 will be stopped for carrying out repair

On September 8 at 12:00 the power unit No. 3 of the Kalininskaya nuclear station will be stopped on the repair connected with elimination of the reasons for increased vibration of a turbogenerator (TG) according to the permitted request of JSC "Rosenergoatom Concern". According to the preliminary information works will be extended till 24:00 on September 11.

There are four power units of the Kalininskaya nuclear power plant in work at the moment. Their total loading constitutes 4185 MWt.

The radiation background on the nuclear power plant and around its arrangement is at the level corresponding to normal operation of power units, and doesn't exceed natural background values.

The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in the north of the Tver region in the Udomelskiy area. There are four power units with water-cooled power reactors (VVER-1000) with installed capacity of 1000 MW each in the structure of the Kalininskaya nuclear power station.
