Technical round of participants of the Russian-Finnish seminar on fire safety on the Leningrad NPP-2

Participantsof the seminar on the subject of "Personnel Preparation on FireSafety", passing during the period from October 14 to October 18 on theLeningrad nuclear power plant, visited a building site of replacementcapacities.

 

Technicalround took place within implementation of the Agreement on cooperation betweenJSC "Rosenergoatom" Concern and the Center of radiation and nuclearsafety of Finland (STUK).

 

Specialistsof the Leningrad NPP-2 told to the Finnish colleagues about a course ofconstruction of the nuclear station, the basic principles of fire-proofprotection on objects of the Leningrad NPP-2 and about extent of theirinfluence on safety of the nuclear power plant in case of a fire (active,passive protection).

 

"Ensuringfire safety is an actual task to solve whether it is necessary on the basis ofthe most modern approaches taking into account practice of designing andconstruction of the nuclear power plant, - the head of department of firesafety of the Leningrad NPP-2 Vladimir Gubitsky noted. – The task was set forthe General designer of JSC "SPBAEP" to reduce to a minimum risk offire emergence on stations and its influence on the nuclear power plantpersonnel, the population, environment. The construction project of power unitsNo. 1 and No. 2 of the Leningrad NPP-2 received the positive decision ofGlavgosekspertiza of the Russian Federation that confirms compliance of themain criteria and the principles of ensuring the fire safety, accepted in theproject of the Leningrad AES-2, to requirements of federal regulations andrules and other regulating documents in the field of fire safety".

 

Participantsof the technical round positively estimated made in the NPP-2006 project theLeningrad NPP-2 decisions in the field of fire-proof protection, having addedthat find possible use of experience of the Russian nuclear scientists in thefield of ensuring fire safety in case of construction of nuclear stations inFinland.
