Smolensk NPP: Plant’s Veteran Organization – Best in Rosenergoatom Concern

The veteran organization of Smolensk NPP by 2011 results was recognized as the best among the regional veteran organizations of Rosenergoatom Concern.


The work of ten veteran associations of nuclear plants of Russia and the Central Office of the Concern was assessed in 18 areas, and almost in al of them Smolensk NPP organization took the leading positions.


The Contest Committee marked the high level of interaction of our veterans and retirees with the management and trade union committee of Smolensk NPP.

The work with veterans of the Great Patriotic War was among good utility practices, as well as cooperation with public organizations of the city Desnogorsk, contribution to the patriotic education of the youth, career guidance of students of Desnogorsk schools, promotion of the achievements of the nuclear industry, and cultural and sports activities.

“Already for the past several years, the veteran organization of Smolensk NPP has been being a leader in the nuclear industry,” noted the Chairman of the Veterans’ Council of Smolensk NPP Raisa Zlakomanova. “We could achieve this result thanks to activity of our retirees, their not indifferent attitude to the business and extensive support to the staff and trade union committee of Smolensk NPP. Our target is to keep this high hurdle by moving forward and improving our activity.”

Smolensk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. Annually SNPP provides the country power system at an average of about 20 billion kWh of electrical power, which makes about 13% of energy produced by Rosenergoatom Concern and more than 80% produced by the power enterprises of the Smolensk Region.
