Smolensk NPP: Desnogorsk Hosts Festival “Light of My Russia”
November 2-5 – Desnogorsk hosted the 5th festival of patriotic programs of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC workers, “The Light of My Russia”. This year it was timed to two milestone dates: the 20th anniversary of the Concern Rosenergoatom and the 30th anniversary of Smolensk NPP. It was attended by creative teams of five nuclear power plants of Russia: Leningrad, Novovoronezh, Kursk, Rostov and Smolensk NPPs.
Opening the festival, Anatoly Terletskiy, Deputy Director of Smolensk NPP, stressed: “The basic principle of the festival is: “Focus on the Journey, Not the Destination”. The festival’s task is strengthening of friendly ties between our staffs, education of patriotism and culture development of our homeland. This is the purpose why we all are here today.”
The competitive performances were judged by the competent jury chaired by Advisor to Deputy General Director of the Concern Rosenergoatom, Oleg Zheltov.
“Today Desnogorsk has a real holiday, because the outstanding people of Russia have come here,” he greeted the participants and guests at the opening of the festival. “Nuclear engineers are creative people, rich in souls, and I’m sure that they will present us the unforgettable days of joy and warmth.”
During two days the nuclear power plants showed their competitive programs. At the closing gala concert, there were announced the results of the competition. All the teams were unanimously recognized by the jury as the winners of the festival. The winners of individual songs were awarded with laureate diplomas as part of the festival program. Smolensk NPP became a leader in the number of diplomas – it received 10 of them, 8 diplomas were received by Kursk NPP employees, Rostov NPP received 7 diplomas, and Novovoronezh and Sosnovy Bor residents were awarded by 4 diplomas.
Smolensk NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. Annually SNPP provides the country power system at an average of about 20 billion kWh of electrical power, which makes about 13% of energy produced by Rosenergoatom Concern and more than 80% produced by the power enterprises of the Smolensk Region.
