Leningrad NPP open championship on sports ball dances among amateur couples under the motto ТDance with us!У has been for the sixth time held in Sosnovy Bor city.

25 dancing couples of amateur sportsmen from St. Petersburg (ТLTA-PolytechnicУ Club), Udomlya (ТFireworksУ TSK, Kalinin NPP), Sosnovy Bor (Dance school for adults of the city dance centre) took part in the competition. The team ТThe Energy of a DanceУ represented Leningrad NPP. Slow and Viennese Waltzes, tango, samba, rumba, jive, quickstep and cha-cha-cha were traditionally included into the competition program.

ТSix years ago our dream about organizing competitions on professional parquet came true. We had been going to it for a long time, persuading and proving at different levels that ТadultУ ball dances will be able to take a dignified place among the festivals, contests and competitionsУ, the trainer of Sosnovy Bor dancing couples and one of the project initiators Aleksey Afanasyev reported.

In their turn AlexeyХs colleagues, Heads of the city dance centre Yury and Larisa Khromchenko, noted: ТWe are very glad that this wonderful event became a tradition in our city and that in spite of the painstaking work, the event appeared to be light, unconstraint and was held in festival atmosphere.

Today the championship on ball dances is one of Leningrad NPP multiple projects in the field of mass cultural and sports events, held for the enterprise workers, their family members and the citizens. Judging by the growing popularity of sports ball dances among Sosnovy Bor inhabitants, this kind of competitions will attract the attention of participants and supporters for many years more.
