Kursk NPP: Managers of Thermal Instrumentation and Control Shops of Russian and Ukrainian NPPs Shared Experience
Kursk NPP held a meeting of chiefs of thermal instrumentation and control shops (TAI) of nuclear power plants of Russia and Ukraine in cooperation with specialized companies. From October 10 to 12 in the Public Information Centre the participants of the meeting discussed the most significant issues of their divisions and shared the accumulated experience.
The meeting was opened by Chief Engineer of Kursk NPP, Alexander Uvakin. He greeted TAI shops heads and wished then fruitful work. The meeting participants analyzed the measures to improve the operation monitoring system (SKU) reliability of NPP units held in the current year, as well as set the tasks for the nearest future. During the work, there were made suggestions to 2013 SKU modernization program and improvement of the quality of their operation.
At the meeting, special emphasis was made on reports of representatives of the specialized enterprises engaged in design development, manufacture and maintenance of industrial machinery, special devices, as well as introduction of innovative technologies and SKU software development. TAI shops heads learned technical innovations at the presentation organized by their developers.
According to Chief Technologist of the Engineering Support Department of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, Kamil Yuzmiyev, the meeting was held at a high level and became useful to all its members.
ТAll the best practices shared by representatives of NPPs and specialized enterprises, will be summarized and analyzed. The most important suggestions on the improvement of systems reliability will form the basis of regulatory documents for the compulsory introduction at all nuclear power plants of the Concern Rosenergoatom,У he said.
At the present time, Kursk NPP operates Units 1, 2 and 4. Since September 1 Unit 3 has been being under the scheduled thorough overhaul. The running load corresponds to the dispatch schedule. The radiation background does not exceed the level of power unitsХ normal operation and conforms to natural environmental values.
