Kursk NPP: Fencing department student Vladislav Mylnikov won silver at the World Championship

The student of the fencing department of the Primary Trade Union Organization (PTUO) No 320* Vladislav Mylnikov won the silver medal in the individual competition at the World Championship among the cadets.

The World Championship among cadets and juniors was taking place in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) from 1 to 10 of April, 2017. Overall, 119 foilsmen took part in the tournament.

In the semi-final Kurchatov sportsman faced his fellow Russian Р Ivan Troshin Р and won the fight by a score of 15:9. And in the struggle for the gold medal during the final Vlad was opposed by the favourite of the Russian team Kirill Borodachev. First, they were playing on the level field, but then Vlad lost by a score of 15:8.


Thus, the entire victory podium at the World Championship was occupied by Russian foilsmen. It happens for the first time in the recent history of sport.

This year alone Vladislav has won the Cadet Championship of Russia, as a part of the team Р the European Championship, performed in the World Cup among juniors in Italy, and now he has gained his personal silver from the World ChampionshipУ, Lydia Safiullina, Honored Coach of Russia, explains. *The foil fencing department exists in the Youth Sports School (YSS) of Kursk NPP since 1984. It was organized by Ildar Mavlyutov, who is now the Head Coach of the Department, Honored Coach of Russia. Over the years, the Department has trained two Olympic champions Р Evgenia Lamonova (2008) and Inna Deriglazova (2012, 2016); three honored masters of sports, 7 international masters of sports, four masters of sports of Russia. At present, all trainers of all the sports departments are transferred to the Primary Trade Union Organization of Kursk NPP (PTUO No 320).

At the moment, the Kursk NPPХs 1st, 2nd, and 4th power blocks operate at the capabilities set by the dispatch schedule.
