Kolskaya nuclear power plant: the power unit No. 3 is plugged in to the network.

At 17:30 on July 15, 2013 the power unit No. 3 of the Kolskaya nuclear power plant was plugged in to a network. Since July 11 the power unit No. 3 has been in an allowance after the end of scheduled preventive maintenance.  As of July 16, 2013 there are 3 power units in work. On the power unit No. 4 in accordance with the schedule, planned preventive maintenance is conducted. Loading of station constitutes 883 MWt.   The radiation situation around the Kolskaya nuclear power plant and in a 30-kilometer zone of supervision doesn't differ from a natural background. Level of a radiation background around the location of the Kolskaya nuclear power plant is in limits of 0,07 - 0,10 ?Sv/hour (microsievert per hour).   The Kolskaya nuclear power plant is a branch of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". The station is located in 200 km to the South from Murmansk on the shore of the Lake Imandra. It develops about 60% of the electric power of Murmansk region. There are 4 power units in operation with reactors of type VVER 440 MW each.
