The last batch of steam generators for power unit ? 2 was delivered to the Leningrad NPP-2. All four power units of the equipment are in place and ready for the installation process at the moment. The oversized cargoes were delivered by tradition in a combined way from the production site of the Machine-Building Plant "ZiO-Podolsk" to the pier Ustyinsky (Sosnovy Bor).

"Today, this unique logistical operation isnХt surprising and yet it is a complicated engineering scheme, which allows us to reach a certain economic impact every time. In the time interval it means a reduction in the delivery time of three months, in financial terms it saves something about a hundred million," - adviser of the Leningrad NPP-2 Michael Carrasco explains the advantages of intermodal delivery schemes of the steam generators. - "But we do not intend to stop here. In the same way other heavy and oversized equipment for our nuclear power plants will be delivered - the generator stator and a transport gateway for the power unit ?1, the reactor vessel to the power unit ? 2. We have already delivered a lot of equipment, and we are sure in the reliability and cost-effectiveness of this scheme".

The steam generator refers to the basic equipment of NPP reactor compartment. Its body is a 15-meter-long horizontal cylindrical vessel with two elliptical bottoms, in the middle of which there are collectors for inlet and outlet of the hot coolant. In the upper part of the housing there is a vapor space, at the bottom there is a heat transfer surface, which consists of 11 000 stainless steel pipe. It will be used elements of the production system of  the "Rosatom", which will perform this process faster and more efficiently, to reduce the time of installation of the power equipment at the Leningrad NPP-2. Supports under the steam generator will be mounted at ground level together with the cylindrical vessel, then the equipment will be moved to the regular place.

The Leningrad NPP-2 is part of the long-term program of the State Corporation "Rosatom" activities. Customer-developer of the project is the JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom".

The general contractor of the project is the JSC "CONCERN TITAN-2".

General Designer is the JSC "ATOMPROEKT."

The Rostekhnadzor issued a license (? GN-02-101-2277) for the construction of the power unit ?1 at the Leningrad NPP-2 (valid - till 03.31.2018) and a license (? GN-02-101-2276) for the construction of the power unit ?2 at the Leningrad NPP-2 (valid - till 07.14.2019) on February 12, 2010.
