Russian nuclear power plants (affiliates of Rosenergoatom, the Electric Power Division of the State Corporation Rosatom) increased power generation by 2.02% over the eight months of 2022 in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

The generation from January to August amounted to about 145.86 billion kilowatt-hours or 102.27% of the balance task of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. Therefore, since the beginning of the year, more than 3.242 billion kWh have been generated in excess of the FAS balance target.

The work of all Russian NPPs for eight months of this year made it possible to prevent emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere in the amount of more than 73 million tons of CO2 equivalent. The generation in August amounted to more than 16.8 billion kilowatt-hours of power (as of September 1, 2022).

The share of power generation by nuclear power plants in Russia is about 19%.
