Revenue of the Electric power division in the first half of 2022 amounted to 355.87 billion rubles

In the first half of 2022, Rosenergoatom (Electric Power Division of the State Corporation Rosatom) increased its power production and revenue.

For the period from January to June, the total revenue of the largest generating company in the country from the sale of electric energy and capacity of Russian nuclear power plants (branches of Rosatom) amounted to 263.8 billion rubles, which is 7.8% higher than in the previous year, 2021 (244.6 billion rubles) . The growth in revenue was mainly due to an increase in electricity prices on the day-ahead market and an increase in the volume of NPP electricity sales under free bilateral agreements.
For the first half of 2022, the cost of production of Rosenergoatom amounted to 167.1 billion rubles, net profit - 95.6 billion rubles. Strong financial performance is driven by revenue growth, as well as the implementation of the Long-term cost reduction program*.

The consolidated proceeds of the entire Electricity division in 1H 2022 amounted to 355.87 billion rubles (300.3 billion rubles in 2021).
Let us also recall that in the period from January to June, the total power generation by all Russian nuclear power plants reached 112.1 billion kWh (1.55% more in comparison with the same period of the previous year). This annual volume of power generated by nuclear power plants made it possible to save almost 55 million tons of CO2-equivalent emissions (if a similar amount of power was generated by thermal generation).

* Long-term cost reduction and revenue growth program of the Electric power division for 2022-2025 was approved by the Order of Rosenergoatom and includes the implementation of measures aimed at cost minimization, introducing various RPS practices, as well as measures to increase external revenue.

Rosenergoatom includes 11 operating nuclear power plants acting as branches, 37 power units are in operation (including a floating power unit (FPU) of FNPP consisting of 2 reactor units) with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW. At the moment, the share of nuclear generation is about 19% of the total power generation in the country.

Operational information on the radiation situation next to Russian NPPs and other facilities of the nuclear industry is available on the website www.russianatom.ru.
