Russian NPPs increased power generation by 1.55% in the first half of 2022

Russian nuclear power plants (branches of Rosenergoatom, the Electric Power Division of Rosatom) increased power generation by 1.55% over the six months of 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year.

The output for this period amounted to over 112.1 billion kilowatt-hours or 103.58% of the balance target of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. Thus, since the beginning of the year, almost 3.88 billion kWh have been generated in excess of the FAS balance target.

During six months of this year the work of all Russian NPPs made it possible to prevent emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere in the amount of almost 55 million tons of CO2 equivalent. Generation for June amounted to almost 16 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity (as of July 1, 2022).

The share of power generated by nuclear power plants in Russia is about 19%.

Operational information on the radiation situation next to Russian NPPs and other facilities of the nuclear industry is available on the website www.russianatom.ru.
