In 2021 Rosenergoatom transferred more than 21.21 billion rubles to the budgets of the regions where there are NPPs

In 2021, Rosenergoatom (part of the Electric Power Division of the State Corporation Rosatom) transferred taxes for a total amount of 21.21 billion rubles to the budgets of the regions where there are operating NPPs (excluding paid income tax from the consolidated group of taxpayers of companies of the State Corporation Rosatom, which includes Rosenergoatom).

In total, in the last 5 years, the successful work of the largest generating company in the country has provided a significant increase (in comparison with 2016) in tax revenues to the consolidated budgets of the regions where there are operating NPPs.

Thus, the total amount of income tax paid from the consolidated group of taxpayers of companies of the State Corporation Rosatom over the years increased by 21.13 billion rubles, or 2.53 times. And payments for other taxes transferred by Rosenergoatom to the budgets of the regions where there are operating NPP over the same period increased from 13.24 billion rubles in 2016 to 21.21 billion rubles in 2021, that is, increased by 7, 97 billion rubles or by 60.2%.

A significant increase in tax payments to regional budgets over this period is associated primarily with the construction and commissioning of new nuclear power units: Leningrad NPP-2 (units No. 5 and 6), Novovoronezh NPP-2 (unit No. 6 and 7) and Rostov NPP (unit No. 4), as well as FNPP (as part of 2 reactor units).

Besides, in 2021 thanks to the existing cooperation agreements between the State Corporation Rosatom and the regions where there are nuclear power plants, an additional 2.6 billion rubles were attracted to the budgets of the municipalities where nuclear power plants are located for the implementation of socially significant events and the construction of new facilities.

In particular, in the city of Novovoronezh (Voronezh region), the municipal budget received 391.9 million rubles under an agreement. These funds were used to improve public and courtyard areas, repair roads, and repair secondary school No. 4, which will be completed by the end of summer 2022.

For example, in the city of Kurchatov (Kursk Region), 311.5 million rubles received from the regional budget are being used to improve the embankment, implement the Smart Kurchatov software package, install 42 elevators, and repair roads.

In Polyarnye Zori (Murmansk region), funds in the amount of 233 million rubles under the agreement helped to complete the project for the reconstruction of the Severnoye Siyaniye (Northern Lights) 2.0 Boulevard, start building a ski base, restore the stadium of Gymnasium No. 1, equip ourtyards and public areas, repair roads, and buy musical instruments and the necessary equipment for the Children's Art School.

In the city of Zarechny (Sverdlovsk region), roads, educational institutions were repaired with the help of 300 million rubles received from the region, a major overhaul of the sports ground next to school No. 1 was completed.

In the city of Volgodonsk (Rostov region), a major overhaul of the building of the palliative care unit of the State Medical Healthcare Institution began, work began on the sanitation of the public sewer and the construction of a comprehensive school for 600 students in the V-9 microdistrict. The Smart City project has been implemented, a major overhaul of the road along Pervomaisky Lane has been performed, and the construction of a martial arts center continues. Moreover, housing and communal services enterprises were refunded for expenses in terms of citizens' payments for utilities.

Let us recall that the total electricity generation by all Russian NPPs in 2021 reached a record level, more than 222.436 billion kWh (3.1% more than the previous year), and the total revenue of Rosenergoatom exceeded 528.4 billion rubles (almost 14.3% higher than in 2020 (over 462.4 billion rubles)). Consolidated revenue of the entire Electricity division at the end of last year amounted to over 735.1 billion rubles (in 2020 - 592.7 billion rubles).

Rosenergoatom as affiliates includes 11 operating nuclear power plants, 37 power units are in operation (including a floating power unit (FPU) of FNPP as part of 2 reactor units) with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW. At the moment, the share of nuclear generation is about 20% of the total electricity generation in the country.

Operational information on the radiation situation next to Russian NPPs and other facilities of the nuclear industry is available on the website www.russianatom.ru.
