Revenue of Rosenergoatom exceeded 528.4 billion rubles in 2021

Rosenergoatom (the basis of the Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation) increased its power generation and revenue in 2021.

In the past year, the total revenue of the country's largest generating company from the sale of electricity and capacity of Russian nuclear power plants (branches of Rosenergoatom) exceeded 528.4 billion rubles, which is 14.3% higher than in the previous year, 2020 (over 462.4 billion rubles).

The growth in revenue is due to an increase in capacity sales due to the commissioning of power unit No. 6 of the Leningrad NPP in March 2021, as well as a recovery in demand for electricity due to the lifting of COVID restrictions in 2020.

Net profit for 2021 exceeded 149.293 billion rubles, gross was 240.267 billion rubles.  EBITDA exceeded 280.5 billion rubles, the cost price amounted to 288.23 billion rubles, which is 4.3 billion rubles, below the target. High financial performance is due to the growth in revenue, as well as the work of management to improve the efficiency of the company's management.

Consolidated revenue of the entire Electricity division at the end of last year amounted to more than 735.1 billion rubles (in 2020 - 592.7 billion rubles).

Let us also recall that in 2021, the total power generation by all Russian nuclear power plants reached a record level - more than 222.436 billion kWh (3.1% more than the generation of the previous year).

This annual volume of power generated by nuclear power plants made it possible to save over 111 million tons of CO2-equivalent emissions (if a similar amount of electricity was generated by thermal generation).

Today, Rosenergoatom includes 11 operating nuclear power plants as branches, 37 power units are in operation (including the floating power unit (FPU) of the FNPP as part of 2 reactor units) with a total installed capacity of more than 29.5 GW.

At the moment the share of nuclear generation is about 20% of the total electricity generation in the country. Thus, every fifth light bulb in the Russian Federation burns from the energy generated by nuclear power plants.

Operational information on the radiation situation next to Russian NPPs and other facilities of the nuclear industry is available on the website www.russianatom.ru.
