Rosenergoatom: Russian NPPs increased electricity generation by 3.37% in January 2022

Russian nuclear power plants (affiliates of Rosenergoatom, the Electric Power Division of Rosatom) in the first month of 2022 increased electricity generation by 3.37% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

January output amounted to more than 20 billion kilowatt-hours or 103.81% of the balance task of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. Thus, 733.87 million kWh were generated in excess of the FAS balance target during this time.

The operation of all Russian NPPs over the specified period made it possible to prevent emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmospheric air in the amount of more than 10 million tons of CO2 equivalent (as of February 1, 2022).
