Concreting of the inner containment cylindrical part has been completed at Rooppur NPP power unit 2 reactor building which is being constructed in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (its General Contractor being JSC Atomstroyexport that is included in the Engineering Division of ROSATOM).

The Lepse floating maintenance base no longer poses a nuclear threat to the Arctic
Murmansk, Russia, 11 June 2021 - The service ship Serebryanka delivered 19 spent fuel assemblies (SFAs) contained in caissons aboard the Lepse floating maintenance base (FMB) to a special FSUE Atomflot storage site in Murmansk, thereby completing the final stage of unloading spent nuclear fuel (SNF) from the Lepse ship. The fuel assemblies were transported in TUK-18 containers.

Third Tier of the Internal Containment Installed at Akkuyu NPP Unit 1 (Turkey)
June 7, 2021, Büyükeceli, Mersin province, Turkey – Third tier of the internal containment shell installed at the Akkuyu NPP Unit 1 reactor building. The installation of a cylindrical structure weighing 322 tons took about a whole day.

The Belarus NPP first power unit has received a license for commercial operation
On June 2, the collegium of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus has taken a positive decision on amending the license of the "Belarus NPP" State Enterprise for the right to operate in the area of atomic energy use which allows starting the commercial operation of the Belarus NPP power unit No. 1 (its general designer and general contractor being the Engineering division of ROSATOM).

Rosatom develops new fuel modification with lower uranium enrichment for Finland’s Loviisa NPP
TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom has completed development of the new modification of VVER-440 fuel for Loviisa NPP in Finland. The new modification of VVER-440 fuel bundle with higher uranium load would enhance the efficiency of fuel usage and power plant’s operation in general.
