The Third Global Summit of Data Center Union took place in Sankt Petersburg under the sponsorship of Rosenergoatom

Over 200 representatives of the largest data centers, cloud providers, service operators, and commercial customers in Russia took part in the event, which was prominent for the Russian data center market.

As usual, the event was organized by the largest noncommercial professional society in the data center market, the Data Center Union, and was sponsored by its prime partner Rosenergoatom, JSC (part of the Electric Power Division of Rosatom, JSC). The other organizer was the marketing communications agency AnyLine.

The three day event was started with the presentation of data centers of the second stage by Miran.

The second day of the summit was opened by the greeting from Sergey Nemchenkov, Director General of AO Atomdata-Tsentr, Director of the Department of Management and Business Development of Data Centers of Rosenergoatom, JSC. “This company has participated in the summits held by the Union since 2018. We’ve attended the summits in the cities of Utomlya, Kazan, and St Petersburg. These summits are to thank for market development, experience exchange, and new partnerships,” Sergey Nemchenkov said. He then wished all the participants to work efficiently during the summit.

Igor Dorofeyev, President of the Data Center Union, noted that “in the course of three years global summits held by the Data Center Union have proven it to be a unique platform that unites Russian experts and specialists in their work to create, operate and standardize data centers, cloud computing, information security, data processing, telecommunications and IT in order to facilitate self-regulation of the market, exchange experience, build partnerships, and launch joint projects.”

The summit had such sections as Data Processing Centers, Digitalization Trends, and Standardization and Certification held within the framework of the business program. The participants have discussed the perspectives in market development of data centers in St Petersburg and other topics of interests, such as multicloud technologies, and looked into analytics of cloud-related trends.

The topic of standardization and certification in the area of data centers received special attention. The chairmen of TK 120 (the Technical Committee for Standardization of Data Centers) shared their plans for launching a system of voluntary certification of data centers RosTSOD, and explained the national DC classification standard.

On the third and final day of the summit, the participants and guests had a tour to the Xelent data center of Rosenergoatom, JSC.

The event was sponsored by such companies as Miran, «REFKUL», BitRiver, C3Solutions, GreenMDC, Mitsubishi Electric, Rittal, Georg Fischer Piping Systems Ltd., HTS, HITEC Power Protection, ABB, DELTA, НКТ, GrandMotors, High Energy, and BBI. The communications service provider Komfortel that’s currently operating in Russia was one of the sponsors of the event.
