The Kalinin NPP has moved its IT infrastructure to a new Kalinin Data Center

CONSIST-OS has announced that it has completed a project on migrating a part of the Kalinin NPP IT infrastructure to the new platform at the Kalinin Data Center.

The reasons for porting a part of the IT infrastructure to a new Data Center were the need for capacity and sites extension for the Kalinin NPP IT equipment, operational costs optimization, and overall improvement of the equipment technical conditions. Besides, the company wanted to keep this equipment safe and to minimize the downtime of the IT services performance.

‘As a part of the project carried out in Udomlya by the CONSIST-OS team, we conducted a full set of works to move the IT infrastructure to a new data center, including the equipment removal, transportation, assembly and connection, as well as the server and network equipment commissioning and start-up’, Roman Doronin, the director of the ‘Kalinin’ CONSIST-OS branch, noted.

All in all, 70 equipment units were relocated. To minimize the IT services downtime, the migration was carried out stage-by-stage in accordance with the services migration schedule.

Following the move, the IT services started working at the Kalinin data center, and the Kalinin NPP infrastructure now fully adheres to all the failover and reliability standards.
