Rosenergoatom (Member of the Electric Energy Division of Rosatom) will take part in the X International Forum - ATOMEXPO 2018 to be held in the Main Media Center in Sochi within May 14 -16, 2018.

Within the frames of ATOMEXPO 2018 – Rosenergoatom will act as an energy sponsor of the event and present its own exhibition stand specifically focused on innovative technology developments, such as: the first and only one in the world floating nuclear power plant (NPP) (PATES) and plazma-based radioactive waste processing facility.

On the first day of Forum, May 14, Rosenergoatom will organize the Round Table discussions on “NPP Operation” in “Green” hall of the Main Media Center. The Round Table participants will discuss a vast range of questions relating to safe and effective operation of the nuclear power plant in Russia and abroad, including perspectives of cooperation development in this area. The participants will share their experience in enhancement of NPP safety and effective operation. 

During panel discussions, the Deputy Director General – Director for production and NPP operation, Andrey Demetiev, will make his presentation “Operation of Russian NPPs: today and tomorrow”. The participants of plenary sessions will consider lessons learnt and related pending issues including application and replication perspectives for digitalization of nuclear plant operation, importance of international cooperation for safe and effective operation of nuclear plants as well as the issues of past and future for Fukushima Daiichi NPP.     

The Round Table of Rusatom Service (affiliation of Rosenergoatom) will be held the same day with a topic: Development of competences for the countries embarking on or expanding national nuclear programs. 

According to the Program for May 14, the framework agreement on cooperation in science and technology between Rosenergoatom and Republican Unitary Enterprise (RUE) - Belorussia NPP will signed by the Directors General Andrey Petrov and Michael Filimonov.

Under plenary sessions of May 14, Track: Digital Future and Industry 4.0, the Deputy Director General – Director for Economics and Finances, Sergey Migalin, will present his paper and speak on new data processing center construction project - “Mendeleev Center” to be the largest in Russia and one of the outstanding centers of Europe.

The Deputy Director General – Director for Special Projects, Pavel Ignatov, will make his presentation under the Round Table of May 15 - “Foundation for the Future Development of Nuclear Energy: Economic Efficiency, Safe Radwaste Management and the Decommissioning of Nuclear and Radiation Hazardous Facilities”. The Deputy Director General – Director for Business Development, Nikita Konstantinov will present his ideas under the Round Table: “Promising Future for Small Solutions”.        

On the same day within the Rosenergoatom’s exhibition stand, the JSC Atomtechenergo and JSC Atomenergoremont organizations will carry out workshop on thermal power engineering, which will be arranged to coincide with the 35-year anniversary of the organizations establishment. It is planned that discussions will include issues of the best nuclear industry practices application for thermal power engineering.

Another event of May 15 is the workshop guided by the Science Advisor of Rosenergoatom Director General, Nickoly Ponomarev-Stepnoy, and devoted to hydrogen power engineering. The representative of Toshiba Company is going to share experience in hydrogen power engineering development in Japan.

The ATOMEXPO International Forum is an annual event initiated by Rosatom and acknowledged to be the largest international exhibition and business platform for discussing the current state of the nuclear industry and setting future trends.
