Kola NPP: 1,092.2 mln kWh were generated in January

In January of 2011 Kola NPP generated 1,092.2 mln kWh of electric power being 0.9 mln kWh more than the figure for the same period of 2010.

In all since the first power unit startup the plant has supplied 339,682.3 mln kWh to the energy system.

As of February 1, all four power units are in operation. According to the dispatch schedule, the plant load is 1,540 MW.

The radiation situation in the area of Kola NPP location and the 30-km control area does not differ from the natural environmental background. The radiation background in the area of Kola NPP location is within the limits of natural environmental values.

Kola NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The plant is located 200 km to the south of Murmansk on the bank of Lake Imandra. Power unit No.1 of Kola NPP was commissioned in 1973. Currently, the plant operates 4 power units with VVER-type reactors. Each reactor has capacity of 440 mW. Kola NPP supplies power for Murmansk region and Karelia.
