An employee of Novovoronezh NPP has been elected the nuclear city Mayor

The ceremony of inauguration of the Head of the Urban District - the city of Novovoronezh was held in the large hall of Novovoronezh Palace of Culture on April 6, 2011.

On March 31, at the regular session of Novovoronezh City Duma of the 5th Convocation, Head of the Public Information Center of Novovoronezh NPP Yury Pegusov was elected the City Mayor. 19 out of 22 deputies, present at the City Duma session, cast the affirmative vote for his candidacy.

The solemn meeting, dedicated to the City Mayor inauguration, was attended by deputies of Novovoronezh City Duma, Administration representatives, abbot of Novovoronezh Cathedral of Christ the Savior Father Mikhail, the Council of Heads of City Enterprises and Organizations, heads of public organizations, members of Novovoronezh Electoral Commission and Novovoronezh citizens.

In accordance with Article 40 of the Charter of the Urban District - the city of Novovoronezh, when assuming the appointment, the City Mayor took a solemn oath: ТI swear to exercise the rights and powers, granted to me by laws and the Charter, for further development and prosperity of the city and for the benefit of Novovoronezh residentsУ.

In his speech Deputy HR Director Anatoly Levadny stressed: ТThe fact that you have been elected the City Mayor by the overwhelming majority vote proves that the deputies impose on you a difficult task to unite the City Duma. I wish you success. The nuclear power plant personnel and your colleagues will support you in every possible wayУ.

Five nuclear scientists are deputies of Novovoronezh City Duma.

Yuri Pegusov was born in 1967. Yuri Pegusov has a higher vocational education. He holds the position of the Head of the Public Information Centre of the branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC - Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant. He is also the executive secretary of the local political council of the United Russia Party.
