Rosenergoatom Concern will present the Russian nuclear power industry to more than 40 Rosatom enterprises at the 9th International Forum “ATOMEXPO 2017”

Rosenergoatom Concern JSC will take part in the 9th International Forum “ATOMEXPO 2017”, which will be held on 19-21 June, 2017 in the Gostinniy Dvor exhibition complex (Ilyinka Street, 4) in Moscow.

The Forum is held annually on the initiative of Rosatom and gained a reputation of the largest international platform for exhibitions and business, where the current state of the nuclear power industry is discussed, and the trends of its further development are being formed. This year the main theme of the Forum is Atomic Technologies - Safety, Ecology, Stability.

The participants of the event will receive an eventful business program. Within the framework of the Forum there will also be round tables, where the Rosenergoatom Concern representatives will take on the role of experts.

In particular, on 19 June there will be the “Innovative Technological Solutions in the Nuclear Energy Life Cycle as the Condition for Sustainable Development” round table, where the report “Prospects for a Two-Component Nuclear Power System Creation – the View of the Russian Customer (Rosenergoatom Concern)" will be presented by the First Deputy Director General for Operation NPPs in the Russian Federation Alexandr Shutikov.

On 20 June there will be the “The Formation of Human Capital for Sustainable Development of the Nuclear Industry: How to Walk on Ice and Do Not Slip” round table organized by Rosenergoatom Concern together with Rosatom State Corporation, , where the Director of Rosenergoatom Concern Personnel Training Department Sergey Aksinenko, the Head of the IAEA Nuclear Infrastructure Development Milko Kovachev, the Project Director of Project Office on Quality Improvement, International Cooperation and Project Administration of Rosatom State Corporation Karezin Valeriy Vyacheslavovich, speakers from Astravets Nuclear Power Plant, as well as Fortum Company (Finland) will speak.

Within the round table program the best practices of human capital management in organizations responsible for the NPP and/or the Center for Nuclear Science and Technology project implementation will be discussed. Also the methods for training personnel for national nuclear programs – starting with the introduction of the nuclear infrastructure – will be considered.

And on the same day, 20 June, there will be the “Environmental Safety of the Nuclear Industry: Strategy, Regulation, Technologies” round table, where Tatyana Palitskaya, the Chief Expert of the Accident Prevention and Radiation Protection Department of Rosenergoatom Concern, will present a report on “Environmental Protection at Russian NPPs: Current State and Prospects”.

The third day of ATOMEXPO 2017 – 21 June – is announced as the Youth Day; special events for students and high schoolers will be held within its framework.

The Forum’s business program will be enhanced by an extensive exposition with the participation of more than 90 leading companies of the international nuclear power industry and related industries that will demonstrate their high-tech solutions and products.

ATOMEXPO International Forum is held by Rosatom State Corporation annually, starting from 2009. The operator of the event is Atomexpo LLC. Over the years the Forum has become the largest platform for international business and exhibition, where the current state of the nuclear industry is discussed, and the trends of its further development are formed. In 2016, more than 5,000 people from 55 countries visited the Forum – a record number in the history of the Forum. The representatives of 650 companies and organizations participated in the business program.

The Rosenergoaton Concern (the power division of the Rosatom State Corporation) includes 10 Russian nuclear power stations bearing the status of the Concern’s affiliate companies, along with the vendors catering for the needs of the generation company. All in all, the 10 nuclear power stations operate 35 power blocks* (*excluding the Novovoronezh NPP’s 6th power block being at the pilot production stage): 18 of them operate VVER reactors (12 VVER-1000 power blocks and 5 VVER-440 power blocks of different modifications); 15 of them with channel reactors (11 power blocks with RMBK-1000 reactors, four power blocks with EGP-6 reactors); and 2 power blocks with fast neutron sodium cooling reactors (BN-600 and BN-800).

At the moment, the Rosenergoatom NPPs account for 18.3% of the whole electricity output in the country.
